This rattan fabric is completely untreated — no bleaching, no processing, no color adjustment. What you receive is rattan in its most authentic state, retaining the full natural reddish-brown outer bark color exactly as it comes from the plant. Lighter amber strands sit alongside deeper reddish-brown ones, creating a surface that is visually alive in a way that uniform, processed rattan weaving material cannot replicate.
This colorway is relatively rare in the US market. Most cane webbing sold domestically has been processed to a uniform honey-tan. If you need rattan fabric that pairs with darker wood tones like walnut, teak, or dark-stained oak — or want natural material with genuine organic character — this is the variety for you.
Natural color variation is a defining characteristic of unbleached rattan — not a defect. Each cane fabric roll will show organic variation across the surface, making every finished piece genuinely one of a kind.
The ½” open mesh weave has a rounder, more open cell pattern than the square radio weave — ideal for light fittings, decorative screens, framed panels, and statement furniture pieces.
All of our cane webbing is handwoven by skilled artisans in Vietnam — not machine-produced — giving each roll its subtle handcrafted character.
